January 23 & 24 Food Packaging at the Coliseum

The Salvation Army has asked for the volunteer network of Numana to take on a goal of packaging ONE MILLION meals next weekend, January 23rd and 24th. The upcoming Million Meal packaging event will take place at Britt Brown Arena in the Kansas Coliseum just north of Wichita from 8AM - 6PM on Saturday and 1PM - 7PM on Sunday. As with the event this weekend, PACKAGING VOLUNTEERS WILL NOT NEED TO REGISTER to help.

If you've been at a previous event and can donate time this weekend to the effort, would you consider filling out an application to become part of the "Green Shirts"? Green Shirts will be asked to volunteer time in six hour shifts on Saturday and four hour shifts on Sunday. For a full description of Green Shirts roles and to submit your application, click on the "Volunteer" tab above. Available shifts are from 7AM - 11AM, 11AM - 3PM and 3PM - 7PM on Saturday; 12 - 4PM and 4 - 8PM on Sunday. (Green Shirts will be assigned according to need/availability and the slots are limited. We ask for your understanding if your name is not selected.) Your time and service are highly valued and appreciated!

If you cannot volunteer at the event but would like to donate monies to offset the cost of the meals (30 cents per meal), please go to the bottom right hand corner of the page and click the eGive button. Donations can also be brought to the packaging event at the Kansas Coliseum. Follow our progress and help us spread the word on Facebook and Twitter!

The Mission of Numana is to empower people to save the starving, and we would love to partner with you to host a packaging event with your church, school, workplace, or even your family (minimum 20,000 meal event please). To find out more about Numana, and to sign-up to receive e-mails, contact us at contact@numanainc.com or call toll-free 1-866-452-5445. In the Wichita area call 1-316-452-5445. Thank you for your support.

Important Kit Assembly Information:

All items included in kits must be NEW items.
All emergency kits are carefully planned to make them
usable in the greatest number of situations. Since strict
rules often govern product entry into international countries,
it is important that kits contain only the requested
items—nothing more. Do NOT include any personal notes,
money or additional materials in the kits. These
things must be painstakingly removed and will delay the shipment.
Shipping Kits Drop off points include:
1. Wichita College Hill United Methodist. 2930 1st North, 316-683-4643, chum@collegehillumc.org.
Contact the church for drop-of deadline.

2. Wichita First Methodist, 330 N Broadway - Kits must be dropped off by Feb. 14.
A Volunteers In Mission team from Wichita First will be delivering the kits to
Sager Brown Feb. 20.

During this time of pain and suffering, let us take comfort in the promise of
Psalm 46:1, NSRV: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
